Outcomes and impact of the case
Evaluation forms were obtained from trainees to evaluate the effectiveness of the courses. After the training, some of the participants are able to help their companies to obtain the HACCP and GMP quality certification, and become suppliers of big food enterprises. It is an effective way to enable the SME‘s staffs to acquire food safety knowledge to prevent food safety accident fundamentally and to raise awareness of their responsibility and contribution to a safe food supply chain in China. The non-profit training programs attracted nearly 1000 trainees from all over the country. This program has been widely reported by newspapers and web-news included China Food News、Wen Hui Bao、Global Food Mate、Tencent、Sina and Xin Min Net. The reports enhanced the people’s trust of SEMs and confidence in China food safety. The successful implementation of the first round of the training programs has attracted more participants and sponsors, and strengthened the communication and cooperation between the industry and the academia.
